Dr.Shah-Noor Hassan is one of the few Vitreo-Retina surgeons of Bangladesh. He completed his MBBS from Sir Salimullah Medical College in 2001.He then obtained FCPS in ophthalmology in 2005.He became the youngest ever to pass FCPS in Ophthalmology. He also passed FRCS in Ophthalmology from the Royal College of Glasgow.He started his career in Bangladesh Medical College & Hospital as Registrar in Ophthalmology Department in 2005.He was promoted as Assistant Professor in 2007.He is currently working as Assistant Professor in Vitreo-Retina Department in BangaBandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University .He completed his long term fellowship of 18 months in Vitreo-Retina in 2011 from Retina Foundation in India under world renowned Vitreo –Retina specialists Dr.PN Nagpal& Manish Nagpal. Since then he has been a consultant of Vitreo –Retina in Bangladesh Eye Hospital. He is also a competent phaco surgeon. He has been doing all kinds of lasers & retinal surgery in Bangladesh Eye Hospital.
Dr.Shah-Noor Hassan is also active in research works and published more than 10 papers in local & foreign journals including peer review journals. He is also a co-author of a book of Ophthalmology.
